Beyond Human. Mom!
I literally took the bottom two photos just a couple of feet away. The monkeys are remarkably calm as long as you look at them through a camera. However they get agitated if you look at the adult monkeys directly and they will sometimes attack you.
The baby in the bottom photo holding the mom, literally just passed me a few seconds before and like a human child started making wimpering sounds like a little kid as he reach out to snuggle in his mom’s arms.
When I show people the last photo, they are often amazed at how detailed the photo is and what I did. A few pieces of advice I give are, (assuming you have a good lens): 1) focus on the eye of the subject. If the eye is not in focus, the rest of the photo no matter how sharp will suffer. If the eye is in focus, the rest of the photo doesn’t have to be as much in focus. 2) Get as close to the subject as possible. Even if a telephoto zoom can “magnify” the object, often times there is too much haze and crap in the air to make it clear. 3) Know the diffraction limits of your equipment. f16 aperture will give good depth of focus, but it will be a soft focus rather than the razor sharp focus you want. Too wide open such as f2 can be razor sharp, but only a sliver of the photo will be in focus.
